Arizona State University (ASU) will soon have new Silver LEED Student Housing at its Tempe, Arizona campus. Hub on Campus will provide 17 floors of living space for more than 600 residents plus two floors with 25,000 square feet of retail space and an added 6,550 square feet of restaurants. The project developers, Core Campus, and builders Beal Derkenne Construction (BDC) announced that the 19-month construction schedule for the Hub on Campus has just passed the halfway point.
“Our pre-construction efforts definitely put us in a great position from a coordination perspective with the design documents. The project has shot out of the ground with an aggressive floor-to-floor cycle for the concrete structure,” stated Andrew Beal, co-founder of BDC. “Both the exterior and the interiors are progressing extremely well as we turn into the back half of the project.” BDC and its team of subcontractors are on track for a timely completion, with an expected occupancy date of July 2013 right on target.
Situated across from the ASU campus and in walking distance to the light-rail in downtown Tempe, Hub on Campus will offer residents a choice of studios, one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom apartments. Units will include high-end kitchens with stainless steel appliances, fully furnished modern spaces with 42- inch flat screen TVs and feature sound absorbing doors for a quiet environment. Other amenities incorporate study rooms, conference rooms, outdoor Wi-Fi access for studies and meetings in the pleasant Arizona open air environment, as well as a 40,000 sq. ft. amenity deck with 22-foot outdoor LED video screen, two outside pools, and a fitness center with latest high-tech workout equipment.
“The environmentally friendly construction approach and integration of a high amount of LEED components makes Hub on Campus sustainable, energy-efficient and remarkably modern,” said Beal.
